With the rapid development of data centers and AI, the interconnection technologies for switches and servers have evolved from 10G to 40G and then to 100G. The 400G optical interconnection technology has become a key hardware solution for interconnecting next-generation data center switches and AI servers. The current system solution is primarily designed for testing 400G optical modules, while also supporting 100G optical modules (4X25G NRZ signals). It can be smoothly upgraded to test 800G optical modules in the future.
The main types of 400G optical modules are listed in the table below, covering both single-mode and multi-mode types. The primary packaging forms include QSFP DD and OSFP. To accommodate comprehensive testing of all module types, it is necessary to design two different types of evaluation boards to meet the testing requirements of optical modules.
